Internal Medicine Residency

Leading & Learning
Our Internal Medicine Residency Program is built around one goal: preparing physicians to lead with excellence and compassion. Residents train in a high-volume, community-based hospital with access to advanced technology, diverse patient populations and personalized mentorship. Every step of the journey is guided by our True North — our patients, families and communities.
Facility
Our Internal Medicine Residency Program is located on the campus of our 650-bed rural health care facility in Tupelo, Mississippi, which houses the region’s sole Level II designated trauma center.
The residency space at the main facility includes:
- a large lecture area
- multiple conference rooms
- resident lounge
- state-of-the-art simulation lab
NMMC’s Internal Medicine Residency Program also operates the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic, which comprises 16 exam rooms and is located at IMA-Tupelo.
Patient Care
Patients experience a seamless transition of care through the Internal Medicine Residency Clinic. Patients are monitored closely by the residents who orchestrated their care while they were previously hospitalized.
